Mindfulness in Stress Management

This one day course aims to provide candidates with an understanding of stress, identify stressful triggers, how stress affects the brain, body and mind. It also suggests useful strategies on how to manage the effects using some mindfulness exercises and exercises on ‘self’. It is weighted with self-awareness and exploration to enable individuals to identify and resolve where possible.

Mindfulness exercises help to self-regulate and can assist in stress reduction through balancing out the autonomic nervous system. Simple examples will be given and candidates will have the opportunity to put these into practice.

Imagery will be personal to each individual and is a tried and tested tool in working with victims and survivors of trauma. These exercises can be used to relieve anxiety.

Mindfulness is an ancient skill that has a vital place in today’s modern world and plays a significant role in managing stress and anxiety.
